Northampton is a county town by the river (the river Nene) tucked within Northamptonshire, England. It is considered to be one of the largest towns in the UK with an ever growing population according to the recent census statistics. Northampton is also home to some of the best attractions frequently visited by tourists.

The earliest form of life is said to have been discovered around the Bronze Age followed by the Roman and Anglo-Saxon eras. The first ever attraction to appear in the area was the Northampton Castle which was regularly used for legislative purposes. Be assured that this attraction will be on our Northampton coach tours itinerary alongside many other great activities.

Whether you will be in a Mercedes 16 seater, an 8 seater Ford Transit or one of our 72 seater Volvos, we guarantee an exciting and comprehensive tour through the city of Northampton. Our minibus hire in Northampton driver is trained, friendly and will be quite helpful in locating any of the following attractions faster.

The Northampton Castle

According to the relics written around the 10th century, this castle was said to have been constructed by Simon de Senlis. Simon was a Northampton Earl at that time, and he oversaw the structures completion—the main materials then being timber and earthen. It was later to be reconstructed into a full stone edifice and a determined royalty premise with the likes of Henry I presiding there in the beginning of the 11th century. Today the castle stands as one of the most pristine Norman architectural designs with a lot of history to teach any interested tourist.

The Northampton Cathedral

Christianity took a stronghold in Northamptonshire around the 19th century after which the Northampton Cathedral came to being. The cathedral was a genius of one architect, Augustus Pugin, who had vast knowledge in Victorian designs. Today the Northampton cathedral is a rich source of the Christianity heritage that dates far back to the 19th century, and also holds great accounts of the beginning of Christianity in Northampton in early 18th century.

The Hunsbury Hills

Hunsbury Hills is a true representation of how life in the British Iron Age was like. People were protected in hill forts (Hunsbury being one of them) to keep them safe from any oncoming threat. The forts settlements were fortified by ditches dug around the perimeter and a timber wall to face the banks as additional protective measures. This was supposed to delay attacks from enemies threatening to overthrow England, especially the Roman and Danish invasions.

Whittlebury Park

This is a country club where you and family can have some quality time while in Northampton. If you are in one of our Northampton minibus hire city tours, our driver will happily drive you to Whittebury for an afternoon of teeing with your friends or family—this is one of the best golf courses you will find in the county. Then on a weekend road trip, you can book one of the camping sites and enjoy life in wilderness, roasting mash mallows and sharing interesting tales.

Althorp Gardens

For those who love flowers and their surreal aroma, the Althorp Gardens is an attraction to visit. The venue not only holds well manicured gardens, but it also happens to be an area where serious botany is practised. So expect to see various species of flora and plants, both indigenous and exotic. There are painting lessons offered to anyone interested as well; and imagine painting in such a surreal environment with beautiful flowers surrounding you. In several evenings, the venue is transformed into a concert venue as artists come to please the crowds with some of their best songs.

The Sywell Country Park

This is a public park enclosed from the busy town life and offers that much relaxation after a day of going around. The environment is serene with green forests leafy vegetation and a lake. Activities you can engage in the park include walking, picnics and even fishing.
